My Story - Lia Siafalis-Tsiatsios

About a month ago I made a very sound decision. Instead of walking passed the sliding doors of Windy Hill leisure centre and cursing at the reflection of myself ten kilos heavier, lethargic and self conscious I walked through them and rejoined as a member. I was pleasantly surprised that some of the staff that had been around 4 years ago actually remembered me and the new staff who obviously had no idea who I was, were very friendly and approachable. After some friendly banter I finally asked the question that I had actually walked through those doors to ask and knew that if I did not, the exercise of walking through those shiny doors would be futile. 'Is Rikki Flanders in?'

Five years ago Rikki had amazingly transformed my post pregnancy form into a lean, fit and healthy one. I had gaped in awe as kilos literally fell off and I became stronger and much happier. Then life did that thing where it became hectic and I listened to that weak little voice in my head telling me I was too busy to go to the gym. I listened to it again when through reckless eating and eventually injury and ongoing restricted mobility, I completely stopped the gym altogether. I joined other gyms in desperation this year. Quick workout and limited equipment just didn't make the difference I knew was possible. 

In five weeks I have dropped just over 5 kilos through personal training with Rikki, attending the vast variety of classes available such as Body Pump with Diana, Body Step and Body Sculpt with Leanna and Pilates with Janine and simply enjoying the array of equipment available in the gym. I'm half way there and feeling more energetic, my mobility has improved immensely and I feel more comfortable in my clothes. I have not been given empty promises. They don't say that I'll get results overnight and they most certainly don't say it’s going to be easy!!!! There's plenty of encouragement and motivating advice to keep me on track. I'm glad I walked through those doors!!!!
