If you are interested in running and would like to do a fun run but are not sure how to train, Windy Hill has the answer!
Belgravia Leisure via Windy Hill Fitness Centre and East Keilor Leisure Centre have partnered with Moonee Valley City Council in promoting participation in the 2012 Moonee Valley Classic Fun Run. Both centres are offering 'training families' to assist people prepare for the run. Registration into the training family is FREE and is open to both members and non members. Non members will need to undertake a very basic pre screening process just to ensure that it's safe for them to participate. Before registering for the training family, runners will need to have registered for the Fun Run via the Moonee Valley Council website.
Each centre will have it's own training family offering 6 weeks of training in the lead up to the run on March 3rd with session available 6 days a week for beginner, intermediate and advanced runners. Furthermore, during this time each participant in the training families will have access to download training programs and will also be able to ask questions of their running coach via a forum that will be hosted as a facebook fan page.

The coach for the program is David Galea who has been taking the running groups for 6 months now and led several Windy Hill athletes to outstanding results at last year's Melbourne Marathon.
Supporting David in a number of the session will be Eliza Stewart who is a retired elite level middle distance athlete now employed at Windy Hill as a Membership Consultant.

Once registered, participants will be emailed further information and a training program. Non members will need to undertake a basic health screening to ensure it's safe for them to particpate.
